Status of the Data Collections
27 February 2008
Added data from Ref 1943 to 1949 in the UBV photometry catalogue.
Mean values recomputed.
Added data from Ref 117 for the DDO photometric system.
Added data from Ref 39 for the Washington photometric system.
6 December 2007
The catalogue for the uvby photometric system has been updated for observations published after 2003 (Refs 587 - 594).
1663 new measurements were added. Refs 482 and 583 were completed for missing data. New mean values have been computed.
4 December 2007
Added Ref 113 for Vilnius photometric system.
Added Refs 37 and 38 for the Washington photometric system.
3 December 2007
Added Ref 1942 in UBV and Ref 802 in UBVRIc photometry catalogues.
29 November 2007
The catalogue for the Vilnius photometric system has been updated for observations published after 2002 (Refs 103 - 112).
1322 new measurements were added. I am very grateful to Dr Stanislava Bartasiute for providing me with electronic versions of the tables for
references 104 and 112.
The catalogue for the DDO photometric system has been updated for observations published after 2005 (Refs 114 - 116).
38 new measurements were added, concerning red giants in 5 open clusters.
27 November 2007
The catalogue for the UBV photometric system has been updated for observations published after 2000 (Refs 1919 - 1941). This
represents 1683 new measurements.
The adopted references for the numbering of stars in NGC 2539 and IC 2488 have been changed to permit the addition of recent
data. See the data base for open clusters (WEBDA) for a cross-reference table
between the various numbering systems.
The catalogue for the UBVRI Cousins photometric system has been updated for observations published after 2000 (Refs 235, 609, 610, 701,702, 801). This
represents 729 new measurements.
31 January 2001
The catalogues for the UBV (Refs 1896 - 1900) , uvby (Refs 574 - 584), Vinius (Refs 93 - 94) and UBVRI (Neckel and Chini, Ref 14)
photometric systems have been updated for observations published in 2000 and before.
Information on variability and duplicity have been updated in all relevant files.
The Master index has been updated as well.
23 March 1999
UBV data from eleven publications (Refs: 1885 - 1895) have been entered in the database,
as well as four DDO (Refs: 109 - 112) lists and one for the Washington system (Ref: 33).
The Master index has been updated as well.
3rd December 1998
Further data for 1997 in the uvby system have been added and
remarks in several photometric systems have been improved.
Added publication 91 and 92 for the Vilnius system and 512 for VRI Cousins.
The Master Index has been rebuilt.
3rd April 1998
We have included in the catalogues the data published until the end of 1997. This
concerns primarily the main photometric systems:
- Geneva : 4000 stars,
- UBV : 3900 measures,
- uvby : 2160 measures,
- DDO : 1088 measures,
- RI-Cousins : 890 measures,
- Vilnius : 575 measures.
The Master Index has also been rebuilt. The total number of stars and
components with at least one observation in anyone photometric system is now:
xxxxx.
The coordinate files, used for the selections on positions, have been accordingly
updated. However, there still remain a number of stars in the photometric database
for which no coordinates are presently available.
We have spent much effort to revise the remarks on duplicity and attributions of
the measurements to the adequate components. It is however difficult to solve
all cases, due to the frquent lack of information in the papers about the
observations made (size of the diaphragm). In doubtful cases, we have left the column "Remark" blank.
Therefore, entries for some stars may seen to be duplicated,
but it is voluntary, because it is not possible to decide what has been really
measured when the separation is between 10" and 25" and the magnitude differences
are larger than 4 mag.
4 July 1996
A large effort has been done to improve the remarks on variablity and
duplicity (although the work will never be finished!) and a new and better
version of the General Index has been made.
Since many stars have been grouped the total number of entries has
been diminished by about 1000.
31 May 1996
The General Index has been completely remade, on the basis of all updated
catalogues of photometric data.
We are working on the uniformisation of remarks, which is especially hard
for double and multiple stars.
9 May 1996
- The uvby system
- New files of original and mean uvby data have been installed,
containing measurements in the Strögren system published to the end
of 1995.
- The UBV system
- New files of original and mean UBV data has been installed,
containing measurements in the UBV and related systems published to the
end of 1995.
- The supplement file (1993, 1994, 1995) contain 7128 new measurements.
- The Vilnius system
- A new catalogue has been produced, with somme 50 new publications
- The WBVR system
- The catalogue published by Kornilov et al. (1991) has been incorporated
in the database
- Other systems
- We have also updated all other systems for which new data are still
published, especially the RI (Cousins) and RI (Kron), but also the DDO,
and several minor ones.
